Oh, Peyton

Peyton Manning put the stinky on the Detroit Lions in a preseason blowout. Yes, it was preseason. Yes, it was the Lions, but this team was predicted to win 10 games (the Lions, that is... hahahahhaha).

Anyway, Peyton's stat line looked very ridiculous. 23 for 27, 233 yards with 3 TDs. If he plays like that against lame teams during the regular season, his place in history will be further solidified by his climb up the all-time lists in several categories.

However, this game wasn't as important for Peyton as it was for the Lions. Despite losing 37-10, the Lions looked terrible. Oh, I was probably supposed to say something positive there. Well, I can't. They looked awful. At least their starting QB wasn't in there to get trounced by a bad defense. The Lions will not win 10 games. They'll probably struggle to win 5. Unless the Kitna to Johnson call echoes 10-15 times a game (folks, it won't), the Lions will lose.

But, it was cool to see Peyton running his offense, as he does so well. The Colts should win plenty of games again this season and if the defense can sandbag all regular season in an effort to save all of their magic until the post-season, the Indy Colts could be there again.

We'll just have to see.
