Chiefs and Vikings to practice against each other

The Chiefs and Vikings have plans to combine two practices this weekend, with the first practice being tonight in Minnesota and the second one Saturday night in Kansas City.

“It’s kind of like a preseason game before the preseason starts,” Chiefs coach Herm Edwards said. “We’re going against another opponent, and that’s good for us. It’s a long training camp if you have to wait until your first preseason game before you actually play against somebody. If you don’t, that’s when all of the shoving and the kicking and the biting and the fighting start in the second week of training camp because you get tired of pushing each other around.
Edwards is referring to a fight that broke out in practice a couple days ago between Will Svitek and Turk McBride, which was cheered on by spectators watching the practice.

This is the second year that the Chiefs and Vikings have practiced against each other.
