McCown to start for Raiders in preseason opener

Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin has announced that Josh McCown will get the start Saturday night when the Raiders open up their preseason against the Arizona Cardinals. Even though McCown is going to get the start though, Kiffin is planning on giving all three quarterbacks equal snaps.

Kiffin has gone on record in the past couple days and said that all three are in a "dead heat" for the starting job. Which is just really sad for Daunte Culpepper, who is listed as the last quarterback who will be getting playing time Saturday night after Andrew Walter.

But really, why Josh McCown as the starter?

"Josh has done a really good job and shown a lot of leadership in the way he handled himself during the scrimmage on the sidelines and around the team," Kiffin said. "Next game, it may be opposite."

Ok, sure. In other words, he has sucked the least.
