Chargers defense focusing on 3rd down

The Chargers defense has spent a lot of time in camp working on their third down performance.

Last year, the Chargers were 13th in the league overall on allowing opposing offenses to convert third downs. Not terrible, but they were near the bottom when it came to 3rd and 4 or 5 yards, allowing teams to convert nearly 54% of the time.

Safety Marlon McCree said: “If we can improve ... If we can get teams off the field 10 percent more of the time, that's 10 percent more times (LaDainian Tomlinson) can get the ball and get in the end zone.”

My fantasy team approves this message.
