A little late, but...

Roger Clemens getting a contract that pays him $4.5 million a month! The contract is essentially a $28 million/one year deal. How ridiculous is this?

Yes, he is still "The Rocket" and had the lowest ERA in the Majors (2.30) last year after June, but how many starts will he even get? 12? 15? I can't comprehend this. The Yankees are paying more than $1 million per start.

Enough is enough. I love the Yanks, but come on!

Don't forget he also gets the choice to choose if he wants to travel with the team when they are on the road for away games. It normally required for every player to travel even if they don't play, but for the Rocket he can do anything he wants. On top of all this he is not even starting till midway into the season. He has it made, lets hope that he can take them all the way this year, thats all I care about. Go Yanks.

Well they need something. If you've got the money to pinch out a few wins, why not? With Mussina and Pettite ailing and nobody else to provide consistency in that bullpen (including Rivera), they had to do something, and why not go to old faithful. He'll get around 20 starts this year, and he won't travel with the team on the longer trips, he might on road series. But he provides a little bit of consistency, and that could be the difference. It'll do a lot more than firing the strengths coach.
